Phylum: Basidiomycota Family: Tricholomataceae
Fayodia bisphaerigera (J.E. Lange) Singer
Slender Navel
Largely confined to needle-litter of coniferous woodland but, less commonly, with mosses. Cap colour is variable from chestnut to pale buff. When young the cap is like a lampshade with pleating and striations from the central umbo, aging to campanulate. The spores are unusual for this family being globose and covered with blunt warts.
Rare: appearing on the Red Data List. The specimens illustrated are now in the Royal Botanic Gardens' collections at Kew
