Cladonia strepsilis (Ach.) Grognot

Type: Cladonia

Forms a stiff cushion of notched, basal squamules, typically pale bronze-green above, white below. Identification confirmed by the diagnostic bright emerald-green reaction with sodium hypochlorite. This is the only UK species to give this C+ reaction. Mostly on wet peat on heaths and moorlands
