Phlebiopsis gigantea (Fr.) Jülich

A resupinate fungus that has proved beneficial in large conifer plantations as a biological control agent against the pathogen Heterobasidion annosum on freshly cut Picea abies stumps. White, blue and grey in colour, it can cover large areas of cut logs and stumps. Widespread but not particularly common
